1. Q: Does the club have annual dues? A: We don't have any dues. Your cost is limited to the events we go to (movie tickets, etc.) and the minor costs of juice and (or water) and goldfish if you decide to host a playgroup. 2. Q: Do you have meetings? A: We don't do meetings... ever. 3. Q: Are there any commitments? A: None. Though you are strongly encouraged to take a turn putting together a monthly calendar of events (4 weekly kids events with at least one Dads Night Out). There is no obligation, we’d also accept ideas as you have them. 4. Q: What’s the average age of the group?
A: Dads range in age from around 30-45. Kids are newborn-6 years old. Kids older than that tend to get involved with school and other things. We accept, and encourage any age.
5. Q: What area’s are members from?
A: We are from all over the Richmond area – All over Henrico County (lots in the West End), Chesterfield, Midlothian, Mechanicsville, Chester, Varina. 6. Q: Where do you meet? A: Anywhere, and everywhere. 7. Q: How long do you meet? A: However long we wish to, or you want to leave. 8. Q: Is there ever a time you host events for the entire family? A: Yes. There are times when we have "bring the entire family" events.
9. Q: Why is your website name: www.richmonddadsclub.com different from your Yahoo Groups name: Dads and Kids Club? A: Good Question! Dads and Kids Club began in 1995. In 1999, it made it's way to the internet using the original name. The guy who put together this website couldn't find the group to easily, and decided to purchase a domain name that is easy to remember, and hopefully an easier search online.
10. Q: How long have you been around? A: Since 1995.
11. Q: Why are you known as a Stay at Home Dad's (SAHD) group? A: Because we primarily get together for activities during the weekday work hours for the benefit of our children.
12. Q: Can a stay at home working dad join the group? A: Yes. Many dads can make time to participate in our gatherings. Either he works overnight, or has flexible day hours.
13. Q: What if the a working dad (not at home) wants to join the group? A: Due to our activity schedule, we don't usually encourage such but you can apply. 14. Q: Do I need to ever visit www.richmonddadsclub.com?
A: No. It's strictly for promotional purposes. Our Yahoo Groups website is a bit difficult to remember: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dadsandkidsclub/ . You can visit this address if you need information. Since our group communicates via email, it's not necessary to visit the website.
15. Q: Do I have to receive communications via email? A: No. If chosen, you can receive communications via the Yahoo Groups website. You can also choose to receive a daily or weekly digest of all correspondence via email.
